Whirlwind you

I wish you could hold me and tell me it was going to be okay,
But then I remember,
You left like the wind blowing through the trees.

Touching and loving,
Dancing and laughing,
Caressing and communing,
And then dissipating
Like the wind always does.

The wind,
It sings when it blows like crazy,
Shuffles the world around like cards,
Makes me wish I had an ace,
Like I thought I had with you,
But the wind proves it can't be captured,
Something like you.

It can be a gentle song and then
A destructive force,
And that is the litany,
You as a destructive force,
Blowing across my heart
And crushing the songs I sang to you.
