She read the Chinese word again, xing. She wondered how it was pronounced. Then she read it again: Be Fine, Xing. It was as if it was being presented to her as a choice, be fine or don’t be fine. She wondered if she really did have the power to decide, and what her life would look like if she always chose to Be Fine, Xing.
