You're like a dream fading with the rising sun. You're presence I knew so tangibly Now seems like a figment of my imagination. It's easy to loose you in the fog of my memories, And I feel like there isn't a point for you anymore. You're so close and yet so far. You're like shifting shadows I can't catch On a moonlit night. I believe you're there but you're not. I cry in dark corners because I can't speak to you. I can't tell you my secrets anymore, Because your answers seem like platitudes. I can't help but think I'll just be a plaque You'll hang on your wall someday. I doubt the existence of idiosyncratic us. I don't know how you stand by and think it's perfect When the ground we walked on cracked and swallowed us. We've faded in the shifting sands of time. I will slip through your fingers unless you can grip me. © 2022 Loly Rinn Photo by Kunj Parekh on Unsplash
