I look for you and the tracks you made The indentions in the ground Your prints in the snow The way you looked The way you laughed Even how you grumbled When you tried to clear the path Your presence was like the stars And I always looked to you To find my way again This was your pattern The day to day wanderings My watching for you And making sure you were there Your patterns etching into my soul But now you've gone far away The patterns seem to be fading And fear rises on my heart's horizon I think I'm losing my way How can I go on like this What direction should I go? The tracks are diminishing The indentions sinking The prints being blown away If there is a way you can be here again Show me new patterns Leave your marks on my path I'll look for you and the tracks you'll make The indentions in the ground Your prints in the snow © 2021 Loly Rinn Photo by Bartosz Gorlewicz on Unsplash
