Deep within a black forest Kindles a blazing fire of hope It dances to rid the dark While a devoted soul stands by Warmed by the intense flame But even darker times rush in When prayers are never answered When wishes are never granted When dreams are never real The soul steps away from the light Then the fire dies Though a single ember burns inside Darkness presides and the heart fails Questions are asked but none answered The soul finds courage to look again In the ashes a burning ember is found A roaring fire of hope rekindles © 2020 Loly Rinn Photo by Thought Catalog on Unsplash From a personal anthology of bygone poetry
